Different Types Of Hypnosis
There are three different types of hypnosis that have been mentioned by the psychologists. Let's
have a closer look at the details.
Ericksonian Hypnosis:
This type of hypnosis is believed to be one the most effective techniques which are used today.
Actually, Ericksonian hypnosis technique is used by introducing ideas to our subconscious and this is done with the
help of stories which are called metaphors.
So, the use of metaphors in this technique of hypnosis differentiates it from other techniques of
hypnosis. The practitioner, with the help of metaphors, is able to pass the barriers that the conscious mind has
set up. And they help them in reaching the subconscious.
Usually, hypnotist uses two types of metaphors. Isomorphic metaphor, first type of metaphor, offers
a moral lesson. In the second one, the command is embedded. In this way, the conscious mind is distracted by some
aspects of the tale like the plot, hile e subconscious mind tries to find an indirect clue to the solution of a
problem that is present within the tale.
Traditional Hypnosis:
This type of hypnosis is best for the people who are greatly responsive to hypnosis. People, who
are very critical and analytical in nature, resist this type of hypnosis.
It is just luck, if this type of hypnosis works with these kinds of people. It is the easiest technique among all
the major techniques of hypnosis.
There are many things in common with other hypnosis techniques, if you see from the bottom line. As
a result, the subconscious of the patient becomes highly suggestible at this point. So, the patient starts to
address a key concern and it happens through problem-solving or auto-suggestion.
Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP):
This type of hypnosis is considered the most effective form of hypnosis. The way the treatment is
performed is the reason of its success.
